What if I cannot afford my medical bills after I was injured by another person?

Not being able to afford your medical bills is a pretty common cause of bringing a personal injury case. There’s several ways to have the medical bills handled. One if it’s an automobile accident, then your PIP, your own insurance is going to cover the first $10,000 of bills. If it’s not an automobile accident, then many doctors will take on your treatment based on what’s called a letter of protection or an LOP. That means it’s kind of contingent where if there is a settlement, ultimately they’re willing to wait on being paid to their bills until the end of the settlement and they’ll be paid at that time.
